NRIC, the Natural Resources Information Council, was formally founded in 1993 but its history starts two years prior to that when the first North American Fish and Game Special Librarian's Conference organized by Inez Hopkins was held in Boise, Idaho. The organization has held annual meetings since that date.

The NRIC facilitates the exchange of information among natural resource managers, information specialists, and librarians specializing in natural resources. Members come from both public (government, academic) and private (NGO, consulting) organizations.

2010 NRIC Annual Meeting - Kalispell / Glacier National Park, Montana

August 4th-7th, 2010

Looking for a Great Summer Conference?

Look no further!

The Natural Resources Information Council is having their annual conference in Glacier Park, August 4 -8, 2010. It will be an excellent time of quality presentations and networking, along with learning about Glacier Park, wildlife, nature and more. For fun, we have a morning of flyfishing and an optional field trip through Glacier Park. Bring the family and make it a vacation!

We will be staying at the Big Creek Outdoor Education Center,a historic Flathead National Forest Ranger Station, located along the wild and scenic North Fork of the Flathead River adjacent to Glacier National Park, a twenty minute drive from West Glacier.

Registration includes 4 nights accommodation and meals. Travel from the Kalispell airport can be arranged for an extra fee (probably around $60 round trip).

$450 for attendees, $200 for guests (spouses, partners, friends), 150 for kids 5-15, $25 for fly fishing. Field trip costs are tentative but will be around $80/person.

Proposals for presentations are being accepted. Please contact Beth Thomsett-Scott at beth.thomsett-scott@unt.edu

Looking forward to sharing the beauty of Glacier with you!
